Bedtime battles

​​​Your child takes forever to fall asleep. You'd really love to have those couple of hours to unwind before you go to bed. Instead, each night, you have to spend those couple of hours convincing your child(ren) that it's time to sleep, getting them to put their PJs on, and then staying with them for quite a while until they stop trying to climb out of the crib, giggle, ask for more stories, and finally doze off. Two hours later, your re-emerge out of their bedroom and your spouse quietly hands you a glass of wine. Sounds familiar?

Bedtime battles is one of the most common sleep-related complains, but luckily, also one of those relatively easy to address. The reasons why your child has difficulty falling asleep vary and can be anything from an inappropriate schedule and evening routines to late sunsets.
